I dont know, but mine eats alge pellets from time to time. I dont think they go looking for them but if they happen to be in the sand or on the sand that he sifts then he will probley eat it.

algea pellets? mine doesn't eat anything i put in the tank and im worried he will starve. i tried to get him out but he just goes into the rock where i have to tare everythng down which i dont want to do. so i ordered some pods.

i was but as my other post said i can't catch him withought taring my tank down

Drain the tank into buckets,saving all the water. Drain it to only a few inches. Remove fish, replace water.
