I have a 4 1/2 foot tank, and she is not an active swimmer, she is always hided in the back of the tank.

Bang guy said it right... doesn't sound like normal behavior to me. Tangs are normally active swimmers. The only time mine stops swimming is when it's sleeping, or getting a cleaning from my skunk cleaner shrimp. The rest of the time it's swimming from one end of the tank to the other...

I added 9-little fish today, Sailfin tang is now very active.
