I am trying to feed my frogspawn, but it just seems to let it go in a web of som sort.
I am trying to feed it mysis. I melted the mysis and sucked it up with a turkey baster and gently shot it near the mouth area. The mysis was sticking all over the little guy, but then it seemed to release it all. some of it released in a film of some sort and other just seemed to float away from it.
how do I feed frogspawn?
at the time of feeding the coral was mostly closed up as it does every night. and the mouth was clearly visible

I feed mine in the day when it is inflated and full.I place it on the tentacles and it pulls it to the mouth on it's own.I feed mine pieces of shrimp, krill, squid, etc.

Mine has never really responded well to direct feedings...not like my torch or hammer.....not even close to how my bubble responds. I try to insure the current brings enough meaty type foods in contact and allow the frogspawn to feed at its leisure.....as long as its healthy and in good condition I wouldn't force the issue of direct feedings.

why are you feeding it closed up? If its not extending stinger/feeding tenticles or opened up it probably isn't trying to eat. Cant always try to duplicate nature or try what works for someone else. Feed it when its fully open/expanded (whichever part of the day/night that is).

it took mine a while to take to spot feeding. it still doesnt do it all the time. But it is healthy and full so im not worried.

i agree w/ NM Reef as long as you have sufficient lighting direct feeding is not required. i would still try it from time to time though. sometimes stuff just ain't hungry. w/ my Green BTA it's hit or miss. sometimes he's hungry sometimes he's not.

I am only trying bc I have had the guy wll over a year and while his individual heads have grown, he has not grown a single new head.
could this be due to my lights?
I have 4 65w 10k PC

in what size tank?
it is very possible that it is your lighting. I got my frog back in july with three heads. By the end of october, the three heads and 6 mouths that it originaly had had seperated but only by about half and inch to an inch. By the end of october, i had halides. since then, i now have 6 heads. It has grown more in those 3 months or so than it did since july. Before i have 192 watts of PC on my 40 breeder. Now new heads are splitting, the old ones are growing out, and i see little tiny ones forming. Right now i have about 8 of them the size of a beebee frowing out the side.

for about a year I had it over half way up. but a month ago I moved it to the sand. It seems to like the sand better as the heads have grown larger

I'ld say it is your lights. I have mine under PC only, 4.5 watts per gallon, about a foot under the light, and in six months its gone from two heads to five heads. i spot feed, but not regularly, just now and then. I'ld say try putting as close to the top of the tank as possible and see how it does. And mine likes likes medium flow, enough for it to sway gently but not enough to see the mouths when its fully extended. HTH
