Feeding frozen food

Hey everybody. When you feed frozen food is it supposed to practically fall apart into a bunch of small pieces? I am trying to incorporate frozen into their diet but I am not sure if I am doing it right. What I have been doing is taking a little bit of tank water in a cup and then putting a frozen cube in. After letting it that for a few minutes I put a little in the tank at a time and it promptly breaks up into little pieces. Is there any way to feed frozen without that happening? Thanks

Don't worry-the fish will get the food! The only exception is when you have a large heavy feeding fish that might go after an entire frozen cube as soon as it is dropped into the water. Before I switched my tank to a reef setup, I had a dog face puffer and he would attack a frozen cube, breaking it into pieces and eating most of it while the little guys would wait below for the crumbs.
My smaller fish never seem to be interested in going after a frozen cube so when feeding my tank now (mostly corals, with 5 fish) I mix up a cocktail of frozen mysis and prime reef, cyclo, and some Coral Frenzy and when it all melts into a deliciously stinky little stew I turn the pumps off for a bit and dump the food into the tank.

I think that is where my problem is because I have a lot of flow at the top of the tank. Next time I will turn off the koralias when I dump it in. Thanks!

I just chuck the puck in there, sometimes my trigger or sailfin will hog it and rip chunks off but for the most part I see everyone eating. Sometimes I will thaw it but usually not.
