I dont think they will starve to death but I'm sure they are very hungry. When I go out of town I pay someone one to feed them everyday I measure the food out for each day and put it into small tupperware containers so that all that person has to do is dump the container of food into the tank.
Most of your dog sitting services will feed your fish for you for a price.
I also dont like giving my key out but my fish need to be feed sooo I take the risk and have never had a problem.I now have a well trusted person. It my cost but well worth the price.

Fish can go a relatively long time without being fed and still be fine, though it's not exactly recommended. In the future I would try and plan to have someone feed them for you :joy:

Fish do not need food the same way mammals do. Letting them go for 4 days probably won't kill them. I would wory more about water evaporation and the salinity rising to high also other reading like Ph, Alk but they should be ok with good water movement. I'm sure a few of the fish will eat some algea if there is any at all. Be sure to feed them as soon as you get home.

As already mentioned, fish are cold-blooded animals and if previously well fed can go several days without eating. Feed them as soon as you get home, check water level, salinity, temperature, all that. You should be good!
I am concerned about your freshwater fish because it is always better to leave the light turned off if you do not have it connected to a timer. Leaving it on this entire time may prevent them from getting enough sleep and they'll stress out. Yeah, I'd be concerned about those guys. :scared:

my guess is you won't have a watchman when you arrive. the fish won't let themselves starve... they'll kill and eat each other first, they might be ok, but if they get to a starving point, either the watchman, or the chrmois'll be eaten, my guess is the watchman.
