:happyfish Hi, and welcome. Lionfish unfortunately can be hard to get to eating. There are several things you can do, and sounds like your doing some of them. I learned a trick when I couldn't get my volitan lion to eat, and it worked for me but may not for you. Here it is: I got a piece of shrimp, any will do, leave part of the tail on, and rap a piece of sewing string around the tail, not too tight so it won't come off ever, but tight enough, that when he goes for it, it will come off. Just dangle it in front of him, keeping your body as far away from him as possible, and make it seem alive. Either give a quick jerk to dislodge the fish, when he goes for it, or let him take it. The only other thing I know of that works, is to get very small goldfish, or mollies, or grass shrimp or feeder crabs. Mollies can be aclimated to saltwater I've heard, so they last longer. I kept my fish away from the lions food, so he had every oportunity. Once he is feeding, HOPEFULLY, then start him on Formula 1, frozen food. One thing that really helps too is if you put in a piece of scallop, and another fish goes after it, and keeps pecking on it, and makes it seem alive, sometimes it perks lions interest in the food thinking it's alive. Hope this helped, it may not work for you, but it worked for me, and though it may be off the wall, it does work. Good luck with your lion, and hopefully he'll make it.
