Feeding LMB

I got a "bonus" LMB from SWF.com with my latest order last week, not thinking about it's need for algae. My 55gal reef has very little algae (props to the crabs and snails!) and the poor guy is really searching for algae to eat. Should I supplement with algae sheets or will the LMB learn to eat flake food? I want to figure this out before he starts to lose weight or get sick.
Thanks for your advice!

if the lmb is getting enough to eat, u will see his belly popping out. if not, feed him a sheet of seaweed. my tank has no algae, but the lmb's belly is always full. sometimes u cant see really see the algae on the glass or rocks.

My LMB is grazing the heater tube, filter intakes, tank walls, overflow box, etc, etc, so it's getting something to eat somewhere! Guess I'll have to get out the algae clips for the new guy.

I have a redlip blenny which is very similar. I thought for months that he was starving too. He wouldnt eat the algae sheets I put in the tank. I have lots of snails and not much algae (thank you fuge and skimmer) so I wasnt sure what he was eating. Then after having him for almost 6 months, he started swimming out and eating flake food and my homemade frozen food. So either there wasnt much algae or he finally started to like the other stuff.

My lmb was strictly eating just algae in the tank. I only have him and a false percula in my DT. Lately he is racing my clownfish to the pellet food I feed my little nemo (I have a mixture of formula 1 & 2, microcrabs and omega 1) all mixed pellets. The microcrabs contain cyclopeeze which has been referred to 'fish crack', and the lmb acts like he really is hooked. My .02.
