Feeding plate coral and open brain

I have a plate coral and an open brain that I have taken to feeding small bits of scallop or mysis shrimp to (I have to ward off the shrimps when I do). My question is how small of pieces of scallop should I use. I've heard that corals can get "constipated" with too large of pieces. Is this true?
The plate coral is fascinating to watch as it draws the bits of food towards its mouth :D

I have not heard of coral having a problem with large food items. It has been my experience that they will reject anything they cannot eat. The shrimp are always a problem  I resort to giving the shrimp a large piece to occupy them while the LPS eats.

I feed my open brain about a half cube ( 1/4" cubic piece ) of thawed out frozen squid, shrimp or silversides.
So far no apparent problems doing so.
Can't comment on the plate coral feeding.

How do you feed a bubble coral? At night when they are retracted or during the day when there open... Any help would be great...

I don't have a bubble coral, so I don't know, but perhaps someone else will post an answer for you.

with my bubble that is about the size of a softball, i feed freeze dried krill during the day. i make sure there is no air in the piece of krill and place it in the center of the bubbly mass. before long, the bubbles will have deflated, feeder tentacles out, and the piece of krillis in itz mouth. I also target feed at night sometimes, with dt's or marine snow, while all the feeder tents are out and about!
good luck
