Feeding schedule question

As stated … What is your feeding schedule on your Erectus Seahorses? Currently I’m feeding at 6:00am and again at 5:00pm but this cuts the day in half and I’m tied to the house.
How gradually do I go about changing the feeding time without starving the poor critters..and yet somehow stretch the day so I can do something besides rush home from whatever I’m doing just to feed them. I would like to feed them at evening around 7:30pm to 8:00pm and shut the lights off at 9:30pm. I fed them this morning at 7:00am…they were pushing each other out of the feeding station. But when I try and feed them later in the evening only two show up to eat, it worries me because I think they will feel hungry then when the feeling passes they don’t eat at all.
So somebody please talk to me..What can I do?

I only feed once a day maybe twice and I dont really stick to a schedual. sorry - with 4 kids its too hard.
I usually feed about 10 at night, because my light schdual is later - lights come on around 12 noon and go off about 11pm
Now that i have 6 in there, I feed two to three cubes a night. If I have time I also feed a cube mid day
Juvi's get more then the adults.

REALLY??? I was under the impression they had no real tummies and should eat all day long but we managed to train them for frozen but still have to feed 2Xs a day.....BLAH, maybe I'm getting the dwarfs info mixed with the larger ones. LOL...I was visiting my sister yesterday and realized it was 6:00 and rushed home all worried.
If they are like fish...why not just once a day? Or is there something to the tummy thing?

SO TERESA.....you have NEVER skipped a day???? I ask this because IF we ever get to go camping I figure we would go Friday - Sunday
that means they eat Friday....skip Saturday....and then eat Sunday
I do not have a fish sitter yet :( and I don;t want them to starve....LOL

Spoiled??? You mean they would survive and be just fine on a 1x a day feeding? I didn't see Ts first response....you have no idea how hard I have tried to be right on schedule to keep these liitle darlings. Whew what a releif. I almost feel as free as the day I told my children..."I'm going to the store and I will be right back", I used to drag them everywhere I went...so that was a day of pure freedom.

Lois-yes I have skipped a day - It has happened a few times in the past-not with the babies though. You dont even have a place to buy ghost shrimp do you?? that would be better- or at least catch some amphipods from the big tank. I dont like to skip, but sometimes it unavoidable.
Flower-before babies-i aways fed once a day. I have always had something for them to hunt.

I have skipped a day once in a while. There is an argument that it's "healthy" to skip a day once every couple of weeks to allow the horse a chance to clear out his system. I'm not sure I agree with that -- I seriously doubt many horses in the wild have such a hard time hunting -- but it doesn't hurt if you skip a day ever blue moon or so.
I have also let the horses go with one feeding -- in fact I'm considering this for my current problem. As you may recall, I even left my girl alone for a WHOLE WEEK last year when I went to NC for Thanksgiving. I ordered a buttload (can I say that here??) of Amphipods off of the 'bay, and bought 20 very small ghost shrimp from my LFS. Horse and fish were fine upon return. Just make sure if you do this kind of thing that your horse will eat amphipods....although I've never seen a horse that doesn't!
Lois: Go Camping. You deserve it.

LOL.....I know....who's gonna starve by missing one meal anyhow...and I am sure there is plenty in the tank for them to pick on
Maybe we can go next month :( Now my husband will work the next 2 weekends, and the one after that we have to go to Dallas to get my LED's

SEE...this is what happens every year :(
