I been feeding mine twice a week for 5 years, it's a good idea to use a stick -I still have all my fingers.

with a snowflake i dont think you have to worry about loosing a finger. They arent that agressive as long as you keep them feed. And i would not stick feed unless you have so many fish that he will never get any food.

Feeding once every 2-3 days is sufficient. Use of a feeding stick conditions the eel to feed predictably, and ensures it is getting enough to eat. Give it a varied diet as well. Silversides, chopped clam, squidd, occasional krill, scallops and chopped table shrimp.

My snowflake eel is very aggresive. He's 15 inches. He already tried to eat my tomato clown and my puffer(he puffed up though) but my quick thinking saved them. I give him every other day. I did try once or twice to hand feed him but he would come right after my hand and I would drop the food and he wouldn't care, and still come after me. He is very aggresive. He takes food from my piccaso trigger right out of his mouth. He's a mean fellow.
