I feed cyclopeeze to my fish but occasionally my monti's will grab a few pieces. I wouldn't go out of my way to feed SPS's, they get all they need from lighting and from the water.

This is false. Small polyped scleractinians are not herbivorous -- they are carnivorous. They will not consume algae or plant-like organisms.

This isn't always true. Acropora can get over 100% of their carbon from light, depending on the species and the habitat they came from - if in a shaded or deeper area, it won't make it in terms of carbon either and will have to acqure it from feeding. They can get a lot of nitrogen, potentially, without feeding.
As far as foods to feed, Golden Pearls will work well, as with any liquefied foods.

I dose with Liquid Life Coral plankton as well as Bioplankton. My sps polyps seem to open up a little more right after dosing. Not sure if it makes a difference on growth/color or overall health though.

Thanks guys.
I've been reading Aquarium Corals: Selection, Husbandry & Natural History by Eric H. Borneman and he believes that feeding is required to complete the nutrient needs of stonies.
You guys that are familiar with Eric Borneman, can I take the information in this book as Gospel or as one more opinion in the large pool of opinions we have??

I feed my tank Liquid life everyday. I don't always turn off the skimmer though...which kinda defeats the purpose. I'll start to turn off the skimmer from now on.

I picked up some cyclopeeze, golden pearl (5-50 micron) and DTs. Figure I'll feed about three times a week, each time with a different food. Planning like 1/2 tsp or so?? Sound good??

I feed cyclopeez 1 time a week. It's pretty fun to wantch the polyps capture that stuff.
it comes in a bar of orange "stuff" dip the bar in a little cup of water, swirll it around,
Magic, did you know that when you refreeze the wet portion of the cyclopees that the artemia explode and loose all of there nutrition. its better to just shave it off with a sharp knife and put it back in the freezer ASAP.

I was never much for feeding my sps. I did try a few things in my 150 but never noticed a difference so I stopped. I feed the fish, sometimes.
