zebra morey's dont eat snails or starfish or crabs, at least mine hasnt the entire time ive had him, the one big issue you'll have is him knocking things over if they are not properlly secured, because he is clumsy, he has never jumped out of the tank, the waste isnt a problem for me because of my filtration system, my 90 galllon has just 4 fish plus an eel. and he eats just once or mabey twice a week, but he could eat more, just remember the more he eats the more waste and the larger it will get
