feeding time

When you feed your fish do you also turn off your filiters?
And just leave on the powerheads?
Till they are done eating

I dont run a powerfilter, but i would think if the powerheads are on it would be hard for the food to get near the power filter intake... unless you feed near the back.

speaking of feeding time, i noticed a problem today. i have 2 yellow tail damsels in a tank that is still cycling. i put in a flake staple food and they go half way up the tank and go back down, they dont want to go to the top to eat and wait for particles to fall and they eat that. most of the food however is going in the filter. what is up with this?
