Feeding ?

Just curious what you guys do when its time to feed the fish. Do you turn your pumps off when doing so? Seems that a portion of the food will go down the overflow otherwise. Thoughts ?

I have a one inch plastic tube I insert through my lid into the water about 4 inches into the water. I drop the food or frozen cude into the tube where it gradually sinks... to where the fish are waiting in rapt anticipation.

I leave everything on, turn on the lights so the fish come to the surface, shrimp too, and feed them... i watch them goble it down, most of the time it doesn't even go to the filters the first time. Then i give a little more and it finally goes to the filters and have bottom feeders to clean that stuff up... a well established tank is only as possible as the fish work together.

I use a turkey baster to shoot thawed cubes into my return pump. It seperates everything nicely, but do it in multiply shots. Don't want to overwelm the inhabitants with to much of a buffet. It workes great, the force even disperses the food so even the shy creatures get fiddles.
