The gorgonian is a Diodogorgia nodulifera, Yellow Finger gorgonian. It is a nonphotosynthetic variety requiring feeding.

From Wet Web Media
"Diodogorgia nodulifera, collected from the tropical Western Atlantic – and best left to experienced hobbyists with systems designed and dedicated to such azooxanthellate/non-photosynthetic creatures. Assuming water quality is up to par and predation is not an issue, these organisms generally waste slowly – from starvation. The point I’m trying to make is that these corals require specialized care and knowledge, and are not for the casual or beginning hobbyist…in “my” opinion. Your experience here is not unique, and it’s likely you will not be able to save this specimen. But hopefully the experience will reaffirm the necessity to research/learn the needs of your purchases, beforehand."

YEAH....I "HAD" one . :( exactly what happened as stated above....it slowly withered away....I tried spot feeding it too...
I won't try gorgs again, at least not non-photosynthetic ones......the one thing I know is I have good lighting for the other types LOL (probably skip them too)
