Few questions on my 24gallon nano deluxe concerning occupants

My tank has been up and running almost 3 months now. It is completely cycled
Everything is looking good on the test.
I have 2 blue damsels, 1 perc. clown and 2 hermits (1 just died) and a white sabae anenome.
What is the proper salt reading for this set up?
Also, how much should I keep my light on?
The anemone deflates when I cut the light off.
I do have the moon lights on at night
I really need to know how long to keep the light on
Thanks,
Dave

I have the Aquapod 24G as well and I am sorry to tell you this and I know you dont want to hear it but your anemone will die. Sabaes need alot of light, MH only. They are also hard to keep even with MH lighting. Also putting one in at 3 months is a no no. It should be at least and I mean at least 6 months, but it really should be 12 months.
Also two damsels and a perc. in the same tank that size is risky.
If I were you I would Upgrade my lighting to MH, thats what I had to do because I didnt listen and went got anemone and I bleached it. A white anemone is a bad thing and means that it is slowly dying.
To answer your questions I keep my Salinity-1.024 to 1.025
I keep my light on for 12 hours. You should Actinics on a hour before the daylights and on a hour after the daylights. You run you day lights for 10 hours.
Please check out the Clownfish and Anemone board and read the post. Thomas is the anemone expert.

Pappy, so you got the one with the standard lighting system? I saw there are 2, one comes with MH lighting, but I wasn't sure how well they would work. I just wanted to confirm 100% that your lighting was just the standard lighting and not the upgraded...I heard the upgraded lights are good enough for anenomes down the road.

The first thing you need to do is research. One of the basic things that is necessary to know is Specific Gravity, long before you introduce anything into your tank. 1.024 is a good number to shoot for. I totally agree with PClown the anemone will die and it will take the rest of your tank with it. All anemones, especially a sabae need intense lighting. I am in no way bashing you or your efforts, but you need to know how to walk before you can run.
A good photo period is 9 to 10 hours. Most coral will shrink and/or deflate at night, even with moonlights.
Again, good luck and research, research, research!

I have had my anemone with clown for a week now
Since I have added the other clown.
Note: All three (anemone and 2 small clowns were in the same tank) at the Lfs
I added some calcium to get it too 420 and my salinity is correct
knock on wood, everything looks great
Both clowns are living in the anemone!
Pretty cool
Kids love it!

I may be wrong after looking at picts of the sebae anemone
It might not be that but my local fish store said that it what it was
It looks like it is perfectly fine with both percs hosting it and playing in it
The damsels try to screw with the clowns, but as soon as they get near it they haul ass to get away from it
Is this normal?

Your Sebae should be brown in color..not white. There is no such thing as a white sebae. It is bleached..unfortunately and may die. They also get huge and should not be in a nano.

If I were you I would take it back, and soon. If it is not completely white it will be within a month and if it dies it can take your entire tank down within hours.
They are very hard to keep alive, and they get huge. You are nowhere close to having the light that you need.
sorry, I dont mean to be critical, but I just dont want you to kill your tank or the anemone.

If you take a look at the inverts section for sale on this website, look at the white sebae
Mine looks just like the one shown, but more of a pinkishbrown tint

You're killing the anemone...whether it looks good or not, it's dying.
Listen to the people here and take it back soon
