so i have had a 10 gallon tank for a little under a year. it crashed a while ago and i have recently just started to build it up. right now i have the folowing:
clean crew:
dove snail
2 scarlet hermit
5 astrea snails
1 emrald crab
fish:
false perc
bi-color blenny
coral:
green star polyps
tree leather
pulsing xenia
i have this annoying seaweed algae stuff that my emrald has been eating but he just eats around his "home". will he eventually move around the tank to eat the majority of it? also is my cleaning crew okay? i didnt go for many hermits because last time i had them they killed my snails and a fish!! i also think maybe a few mushrooms hitchhiked because i have a green striped mushroom looking coral and a red one. any suggestions?

params are:
80 ppm Nitrate
0ppm Nitrite
300ppm alkalinity
aprox 8.0 ph
what should i add to get the nitrate down
i was planning on adding two cleaner clams, another emerald, some coepods, and a spotted mandarine dragonet (of course when things settle down)

any ideas?

The only thing that will bring nitrates down is water changes. Do a small water change each day over the course of a few days and re-test to see if it helps. In a tank that small, you need to pay close attention to bioload and other things that may make your nitrates go up. Until you eliminate that source, you'll continue to have high nitrates.
