I was just wondering if anyone who has one of these actually sees it? I just got one last week and it has been buried in the sand most of the time.

I have 3 fighting conches and 2 queen conches. The fighting conches very seldom hide and do a great job of gently moving the top layer of sand.
The queen conches must to nocturnal because they hide(buried) during the day and move about after lights out.
Both IMO are good additions and seem to be worth there "keep". Personally, I like the fighters better, they are out more and just seem more active.

I would like a conch to clean my sand but I think that a fighting conch would be to large for my 25 gallon. Does anyone know anything about the persian sand conch? Does it hide all day? Is it any smaller? Sorry for high-jacking your thread!

i have a persian and queen in my 30 gallon. the persian is usually buried under the sand, but does a great job, and occasiaonlly wanders onto the rocks. the queen is usually ontop of the sand, on the rocks, and on the glass. there both great additions to any tank with a sand bed.

My fighting conch never went into the sand in my fuge, he was in it for about 6 months. I moved it into the DT about 5 months ago and now I only see it about every 2 weeks for a few hours and it goes back into the sand.

I have 2 and I see one or the other most of the time. They sometimes even travel onto the top level of live rock. I see them buried with their eyes sticking out of the sand less often than out and about.
