bryce, check out some nice T5HO lights by current usa, they're not that expensive, and with ur tank bein the size it is, u can get by with using them, at least u should be able to LOL from what i understand MH are only for tanks more than roughly 20" deep, might even be 24, on anything shallower than that, T5HO's are fine

I turned the pump off so I could do a water change and when i turned it back on i noticed the whole sriviled tenticles are coming off of the nem. is this a sign of no return? should i be concerned for the fish and if the nem is secreteing toxins? thank yoou for the info on the lights. maybe i should start an anemone help thread

the reason i recommended the T5HO's linda was that his tank is only 12 inches high, id think on a tank that short, MH's would cook his fish, and he'd have a serious problem with over heating as well

It dose not look good, I see a gaping mouth, and yes if it dies it could cause your tank to crash. May be on it's way out. If it is not attached as in photo. scoop it up in you hand, bring it to the surface and smell it. This might sound odd but a very good way to tell if it is dying. If it is you will know.

ok, I did what you asked and the thing smelled pretty bad. it also was face down on the substrait. when I picked it up, all of its tenticles were just falling apart. could this have been the trates that caused this. or the lights. I've had the sebae since 10/28/08 so exactly a month. it was doing good untill a few days ago. thank you fro your help. I removed the nem.

its prolly your lights that caused it, plus thats supposed to be one of the harder nems to keep so ive been told, u might wanna look into upgrading your lights to some nice T5HO's, and then getting a BTA

I will definately be upgrading my lights. What about a carpet? are they hard to care for? I could do a BTA (Retteri?) thank you for your help.

They can linger for months sometimes. Sorry for your loss. We all have a learning curve. It was breaking down, I would check your amonia level and you should do a water change. Your tank was too small for 2 clowns and an anemones so you shouldn't replace till you get a larger tank. It may help w/ your clowns too, no more fighting over the anemone.
