I have had both fish for about two weeks .They both eat frozen food and pick at the rocks but they are not touching the aiptasia. Its an aiptasia eating filefish. Thought that was a sure thing. Anybody have or had this issue ?

Hi,

Copper bands are finicky eaters, and many people have trouble with them not being able to thrive. This is why they are considered an expert only fish by many people.

As for filefish or the butterfly fish, it's always iffy that they will eat the aptasia. One thing I do know, even with peppermint shrimp...if they have enough to eat of other foods...they will not eat the aptasia.

it's hit or miss. my auriga bf made short work of all aiptasia in less than a day. raccoons are known aiptasia eaters.
