filling 90gal tank - R/O is 10gpd

i have a R/O unit, but its 10gpd. i only got that unit cause i did some work for someone, and they bought it for me from home depot...can i get away with using TAP water for the first time fill? and use R/O for my water changes? i tested my tap water for nitrates & nitrites and it was very low here.

Yes you can. But I would hate to do it the fast way and end up wishing I had waited the 9 long days to use the R/O water. Many people still use tap water.

wouldn't the water start going bad sitting around for 9 days? would it be safe to store it in the tank w/ the sand? salted or not?...
if i used tap, i can mix the salt and have it circulating so it can start the cycle...then do my 50% with the R/O water once it has cycled..
