I searched and couldn't find anything, but can you buy filter floss or similar at Lowe's or home depot? I thought I read awhile back that people did, but wanted to be sure. What section would it be in?

I wonder if you're talking about the stuff I use in my outdoor pond filters. It's actually quilt batting, found in the fabric section of Walmart and other big department stores. Polyester fiberfill. They sell it in sheet form on rolls or you can buy it by the bag and just stuff it in as needed.

Me too! Works better than that blue stuff you don't get many uses out of. One bag goes along way. I use the "high loft polyester batting".
