filter for 75 gallon tank ???

witch ia a better filter to get for a 75 gallon. hang on the back type. please help me . thanks

witch brand of filter would be best . right know i have whisper 30-60 in a 40 gallon tank i want to go into a 75 gallon tank ?????

I have 3 canisters. I bought all three from that "auction site". 2 are the same brand and I would suggest these over the 3rd which is a Jebo. The seller of the 2 I would suggest is called "Bad-dog" and his "auction site" store is called "Aquatics by KR". Look into it. You would only need one of these large canister filters for your tank, unless heavily stocked. They ran me about $55-$60 shipped. They are good quality and filter tremendously. Before I had the three canisters I had 2 Emporer 400 hang on. I will never go back to a hang on filter.

SWF doesn't like the use of other sites on their message board. But it starts with an E. The description title of these filters reads exactly "Canister filter uses Eheim 2028 filter pads". And if you shop around the Eheim is a pretty good filter.

is the canister filter easy to install? i want to improve my filtration (i have the hang on type now)
and can u put media in there?

I wouldn't say it is easier to install than the hang on, but it is easier to maintain. It isn't like it is difficult or anything. You actually have more options with what type of media you put in a canister. If it is going to be your only filter I would suggest the first layer be the ceramic rings, second layer plain filter floss, then the last layer be carbon.

my smallest tank is your size tank and i have it filtered by an emperor filter which imo is the best hangon filter you can buy. i have 2 though the 280 and the 400. plus i have the red sea prism protein skimmer. my fish in that tank have been fine for 2 years and if you get a hangon that's what i would suggest getting.

The Prizm Skimmer is not really that good. I've had one and they don't skim well at all. If you are going to go that route you are better off w/ a Aqua-C Remora Pro or CPR's BackPac.

i already have the prism, i know how to use it well... it sucks adjusting though....

That is a Berlin Style set up for a reef tank. Does athat work as well for a FO tank who produce much more solid waste?
