Depending on what kind of room you have and what your biological filtration is now with live rock, I might just go with a large sump containing bioballs, and a filtersock with a protien skimmer. Again, all depends on bioload and current biofiltration.

If you are going to have 200lbs of LR in a 75......skimmer and a couple powerheads and you could bypass any kind of filter, LR is THE BEST filter out there, Bioballs are a trate trap too, seriously, with all that LR you would be fine with just a skimmer, good waterchange schedule, and blow off the rock with a turkey baster every now and then, but if you really really want a filter of some kind, go with refugium, only one I know of that wont be a trate trap----from what Iv read

as long as you do some maint on your wet/dry you should be fine, everyone is always saying how bioballs are trate traps, they are trate traps when you dont clean the for a year.
I have a 55 and a 210 with bioballs, my 55 used to get up to ~20 when it was due for a water change. my 210 has been running for ~2 months now and my trates are under 5 and I havent touched the bioballs yet.
I think the 55 was overstocked and that was part of my problem...actually I know it was overstocked. puffer, trigger, yellow tang, coral beauty, 4 damsels, hippo tang all were in my 55 while the 210 was cycling.
As long as you clean like 1/4 of the bioballs during the once a month water change you should be fine, thats what I do and no major issues. Now my tanks are fowlr and bioballs work very well for me, but if your gonna do a reef I would prob go fuge!

Just make sure you re-cure the live rock before placing it in the 75. The filter question has been answered for you.

I don't see where you guys see 200 lbs of Live Rock?
He has 100lbs of Sand and is going to put in 100 lbs of Rock... Which is about normal for a 75.
That said, I'd just ditch the Emporer 400 and just go with what you have now. The LS/LR and Skimmer... That should be fine.
And as mentioned in the "OTHER THREAD" you started.. D

The LR, LS are plenty of bio-filtration. BB's also can trap trates just the same as the emp 400. Go with a sump and possible refugeium (search)! Keep the emp to run carbon and phosban every now and then. The added flow from the emp won't hurt either. Just remove the bio-wheels and let it fly. Just keep it clean and no worries.
If you go with the LR,LS sump just make sure your flow through the tank is up to snuff!
