I'm still liking the idea of using those acrylic felt pads.
I am looking more and more into vodka dosing. I might experiment on it with my little 20g tank for a month or two before I move.

Still working great here, using it on top of a trickle filter. I change it out once a week.

WOW I am a quilter and have scraps of poly quilt batting left over in mass quantities!!! (not the bonded kind) Im new to this hobby and will be cutting these up to fit my trickle filter. thanks for the great ideas. This should save lots of money. Im thinking there are 3 trays, I will just toss the top filter and move the other 2 up, that way the beneficial bacteria will always be there on 2 of the filters and thus no spike.

I will continue testing at least once a week though....not listening to traveler on that one.
