Filter or not?

I am currently using a canister filter to pump out water from a spraybar behind the rocks. I have a 90g with a new 20g fuge with a dsb in it and over 100lbs lr between the tanks.
My question is: Should I use the blue filter pads inside it or just remove it and let all the water flow? Is the filter pad just a waste trapper with very little benifit over the other natural filters like the lr and dsb? I will continue to use the canister filter since I cant afford to buy more PH's.

I would use the pads. The more mechanical filtration the better. You will have to change them often though so that filtered "gunk" will not decompose and degrade your water quality. The filter pads will also keep larger debris from clogging the spray holes on your spray bar.
