Filter Sock/Bleach/washing machine

after reading several posts regarding the cleaning of filter socks I decided to try the washing machine with no soap and light bleach. I then washed them again with nothing to help rinse them out.
However, when i smell them (after drying) I can still smell a little bleach. Should I be worried? I would hate to kill my reef.
thanks for your replys.

itd be best if you can totally get the bleach smell out, the less bleach there is in the tank the better

try rinsing it in tap water that has been dechlorinated. add a little extra declorinator (not much just a little more than the directions say)

I definetly needed to do something more than the old hose out in front of the house. after a year those socks just wheren't getting that clean any more.

I agree with Viper....I change my filter socks daily and they go in the washer with hot water and bleach on extended rinse cycle, and then I always air dry them in the sun.....The sun will neutralize the bleach ....
