I have a 65g reef and fish tank and is doing fine. But by reading alot makes me think about filters.I have a Penn-Plax Cascade 1200 canister filter does anybody know anything about this one.Is there any part of the insides I should take out, or put anything in to help my tank out.I do not have the money to upgrade right now.So any help would be great.

That filter should work fine. Just make sure that you clean it often (2-3 times a week if you can).
You are eventually going to need to buy more equipment for water circulation before you buy livestock. If you plan on having fish only, you will have to multiply your tank's volume (gallons) by ten, that will be the number of gallons per hour you need flowing through the tank.
If you plan on having a reef tank, you will need to multiply the tank's volume (gallons) by at least 20 to get the needed gallons per hour flowing. Try to shoot for 25x in a reef tank though. I hope this helped.
Try reading the "Advice for New Hobbyists" post at the top of this forum, it should help you a lot :)

It depends on the type of skimmer you have, if it's a HOB, then yes. If it's an in the sump skimmer, then no. An in the sump skimmer doesnt move the water in the tank.
