i have two filters on my fresh water tank could i just use those for my 10g salt water tank

ur most likely gonna need new ones, most freshwater tanks need less powerful filters. imo, i would get new ones:yes:

you sure? ive never seen a filter go that low. sure it isnt in between 30-100 GPH? the 10 should do mor like 100gph, but iguess i have never really looked at the ones that small. im going to check it out right now.

90 gph on both then im going to get a power head

i think you shoud be fine with a power head what size is it going to be? my 55 g has two HOB filters that are together 660gph, and two powerheads that are 400gph together and a skimmer that is 330gph so in a 55 that is1390gph in a 55. and i think i am in good shape (but i guess most of us think that we are in good shape until others that are more experienced come in and hit us with a bit of reality)

I think the rule is 10x - 20x how many gal of water you have for a FO or FOWLR, and 20x - 30x for a reef tank.

You need to have a flow of 100gph - 200gph, 150gph being a good average. If your HOB is 90gph you can get a RIO power head that does 90gph giving you 180. Good Luck.

are you asking how to start a cycle?
stick a dead shrimp into the tank and watch the water readings. theyll spike and then drop off into a good level, and then do a water change and you should be good to go. but before taking my advice go to the search, and look it up youll get the water readings temperatures and dos and dont there it is way too much to type right now, and that stuff is already there, and done by the pro's.
