I have an xp3 on my 120 gal tank. Went to clean it tonight & noticed it was unplugged???? Kids maybe??

It smelled like rotten eggs??? I cleaned it & hope everything is ok. Everyone is acting ok. How harmful is it for the filter to be off for who know how long??

If you have a skimmer and a lot of live rock your filter isn't doing much, so I'd say not harmful at all. Although I must admit I have no clue what an xp3 is.

XP3 is a cannister filter that has filtering pads in it along w/sponges & bio balls. I do not have that much live rock--only about 40# in a 120 gal. I have tons of coral rock and rainbow rock. I also have a centerpiece that's made out of slate. Plenty of hiding room. Everything looked good in the tank this morning
