filters being rinsed?

Can u rinse your filters? and what do u rinse them with? Tap? the water in your tank?
My filters are::
Bio Modules for aqua clear power filters for model 110
Activated Carbon for aqua clear power filter for model 110
Foam inserts for the same.
What ones can i rinse or can i at all?

anytime you rinse something you rinse it in RO water...tap sucks
only clean one at a time or you will kill all the good bacteria

OK this is gonna sound really DUMB, but what is RO water? Ive always used tap water with water softner to fill my tank.. Thanks Hope i dont souund to stupid but this is only like my 5th week with my tank

look into getting a RO/DI unit.... Reverse Osmosis...tab water can lead to severe algae problems down the road.

well that might explain the algea i have right now. I just bought a few turbo snails and they have seem to keep it under control for now. Thanks for the advice!

check out air,water,ice.....they make real niceones..
