Filters, Filters, Filters!

I have done some research and it seems that wet-dry is the best. But, i have a freshwater (switchin to salt) and i was wondering if i could use the same filter. It is one that sucks up thought the straw and out the waterfall. I have a 55g and it is approved for 90g. I also want anemones and i am not sure that the filter i have will create enough motion. I was just tryin to see if i could save some money. The guy at my LFS said that the one i have could work but that a wet-dry would probly be my best shot. He wasnt like "the one u have is garbage, buy mine now! mines the best!" or any crap like that but i just want to know if the one i have is any good. Oh and the anemone i want is a BTA.

a sump/refugium underneath the tank would be the best form of filtration. if you just wanted to go fish only or just live rock, you could get away with your HOB (hang-on-back) filter, but if you want a reef, you will need to upgrade. also, anemones are very hard to keep, and keeping them is one of the first things that new people want to do. they require pristine water, and intense lighting by either T5 or metal halide. im assuming since you had a freshwater tank before that you only have standard flourescent tubes, which are not adequate. you will also want more flow that what can be provided by the filter. two powerheads should be enough for that.

Good suggestion.
Funny I've found a lot of those threads via the "search" function but I've never actually opened or looked at the FAQ forum until now :notsure:
