Filtration Input...

I'm looking to start a 30g cube reef tank, with many inverts, but only a couple of fish at the most. My LFS told me that a protein skimmer is all that i would need, of course with 40-50lbs of live rock and 3 in. of live sand. My question is what size of skimmer I should look for, I'm sure bigger would be better just in case I want to upgrade to a bigger tank in years to come. Also, are there any brands that you all would recommend? Any input would be great, thanks.

i have a 28 gallon bowfront and run a coralife super skimmer rated for up to 65 gallons....it does a great job and was highly recommended by many of the people on this site.....

If you plan on no fiter then I would get the back pac from cpr. Its a skimmer and has a bio area combined into 1. You will definately need the lr and sand and might still have problems. What are you going to do for water movement?

Sorry forgot to mention the powerheads, I know I need those also, but haven't gotten into any details on them yet.
