So what should i do have 3 of the 295's to come close to the 10X mark?????

Remember... turnover rate of AT LEAST 10X would be good...some even aim for 20X.
I would say get 4 maxi-jet 1200's. That'll give you about a 13X turnover.
ets...your emperor is rated 400gph so one maxi-jet 1200 would be just fine. But I recommend you go for two smaller maxis like the 900's, instead of the one 1200. This will give you more control over the current and eliminate more of your tanks dead spots.

I have 1 Maxi-Jet 1200 in my 55, I took it out. It looked like a hurricane in my tank! :D My star polyps were on their sides like palm trees in a tropical storm.

Going to be buying it online, The local fish store is about 40 miles away and doesn't have much of anything. The nearest ***** is 2 hours away.

Rio's work for some people but lots more have have horrid experiences with meltdowns. Maxijets or aquaclears are good. Go with the 900's instead of the 1200's. 1200's use 20 watts and run pretty hot. 900's only use 9 watts and only do 60 gallons less. If you have the emporer with a seaclone Skimmer ( cheaper than a backpack and work just fine ) then one 900 on each end would be more than sufficient. If you have a canopy ( if not make one ) then VHO I feel is the way to go at first. MH will require a chiller guarunteed on your size tank and you will probably suppliment MH with VHO anyways if you ever choose to upgrade to MH. A 2-110 watt VHO setup would be killer in your tank and you could keep just about everything with that except maybe some hard corals.

wow, that's good info on the wattage by the MaxiJets. wish I knew that b4 I ordered 2 online, but that's cool.
If I didn't exacly know which corals I wanted to get, and I wanted to leave the options as wide open as possible, what sort of lighting would I be leaning towards. ( 90g Tank ) ???

I don't have a hood yet. My dad is making me one. He built the stand and hasn't got the hood done yet and is snowed out of town at the moment. Went to NC for the weekend and our town was just declared a state of emergency so he can't get back for few days or so depending on the weather. Until he gets the hood done the light will just stay the same. Might have him fix me some lights in the hood when he's making it. Don't know yet.
