I am curious what people run on their 24 gal nano cube?
I have 1 powerhead that runs 260 GPH with the tank pump at 290 GPH
I run phosphate sponge, carbon, biomax, and a sponge in first compartment. in the second I have nothing, and the 3rd i have the pump (which is still broken--- im just going to get a new one)
but what does everyone else run.. i use ro/di water but still tend to have a lot of algae growth even tho i only feed a few pellets once a day or every other day with lights ona 6-8 hour schedule
what does everyone else run... what am i doing differently?

i have a 24 also. Take out all the bio balls and sponges.
About the carbon, biomax, and phosphate sponge you mentioned, I never use any addititives, carbon, or anything. The only thing i put in my fish tank is fish food.
My set up
1st chamber (on the left) - heater
2ND chamber (middle) - i sliced the sponge to about the size of the kind you would use to wash the dishes. i then used it as a platform to hold up my chaeto.
3rd chamber - a tiny bit of filter floss on the bottom to cushion maxi1200 pump. i replaced the green tubing for the clear tighter one at the LFS.
This is how i like my set up. Keep checking and reading the forums. Try whatever you want and see what you like.

I tried to put it in the back chamber but it wasn't getting enough light

just go to home depot or lowes and buy one of those "daylight" spiral light bulbs. It's like 2-3 dollars. Mine is just 5500K and it works perfectly well.
I probably leave mine on for 16hrs a week at the most.
If the chaeto gets too big just throw some away or give it away.
