HI, I PLAN TO UPGRADE MY FILTRATION ASAP, I HAVE A 55 OR 60 GAL FOWLR, NOT SURE, RIGHT NOW IM RUNNING A PENGUIN BIOWHEEL RATED FOR 75 GALLON AND A RED SEA PRISM DELUXE SKIMMER. IM NOT SURE WHAT I SHOULD GO WITH. THE HAGEN FLUVAL 305 OR 405, Eco-Reef™ 125 REFUGIUM, OR Marineland Tidepool 2 Sump Filter. ANY ADVICE AND PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE WOULD BE EXTREMELY HELPFUL.
THANKS

I am no expert by any means but I would go with a sump instead of a canister filter. You will get better filtration along with more water valume. You will also have a place to house you equipment.

Is A Refugium In A Sump Better Than A Sump? Is There A Big Difference In Filtration Between Sump, Refuge In Sump, And A Really Good Canister?

Sump all the way.
Canisters clog.
THe benefits of the sump for your system will be noticable. Can be more Expensive, but worth it when you have the flexibility. The water volume alone helps the tank. A better (biggest Skimmer Possible) may also be on your horizon.
I used many filters (hang on) went to a canister...then to a Sump...Now I am thinking (building now) a Fuge...IMHO, if you want what is right for your tank...go with a Sump !
