Filtration??

Hey everyone I am planning on picking up a 38 gallon tomorrow and had a filtration question. If I am using live sand and live rock, would a CPR backpack skimmer be enough to provide for good filtration of the tank in conjunction with the rock and sand?? Thanks!!

I would think that that skimmer would work extremely good. Are you starting from scratch or will the reef be from an established system.

I have always felt that a skimmer is a good idea for almost any tank. I also like to run carbon so you may try to find a way to have a mechanical way of filtering as well, even a small saddle filter with the cartridges.
