I have one... he is alone in the tank.... I think he would be okay with another eel...
but may eat most other tank mates...
Great guy... beautiful eel

I just got my yellow head/fimby eel..he is very small..about the size of what most snow flake eels in LFS. I just got him today..curious though, his gills are kinda red. It could be because he is so small and skinny that his body is easier to see or it could be like how fish get before they kick the bucket. I acclimated he correctly, and the environment is good(water levels) Just curious about that. How big was yours when you got him..mine is about 5-8 inches but really small not gurthy.

mine is the white with the black dots...he is kinda dark grey right now but I think its cause hes so young..when he was swiming the tank he turned white though. he ate today which was really good..usually they will go a few days to up to two weeks..but he ate like a horse. He is very cool, but I can't wait for him to get some gurth on him.

i just got a fimbriated eel yesterday and he already was eating today. i gave hime 3 silversides and boy is he lovin it...i caught him last night with the lights off swimming out in the open but don't see too much of him with the lights on. anyone know how often he should be fed? he is just juvenile right now. about 8" and very slender. i guess i'll probably just feed him every other day for now unless i see signs of him acting hungry.

I feed mine at least once a day-cause he is always hungry, I feed my ray twice a day, and my zebra eel hasn't eaten yet...but he is very large, about 2 feet, so that is normal.
