Ok, so about 6 months ago I noticed things were starting to get a little blurry....thought maybe my eyes are a little dry. No biggie. Well, weeks go by still a little blurry.... then months go by and I'm blindly typing on the comp and trying extra hard to read the program guide on the tv. Can't read it. Well, needless to say I gave up and got glasses yesterday.
Turns out I have a stigmatism. My kids are still laughing at me but I can see! So not complaining. I think my typing has increased tenfold since I got them.

Just thought I'd share.

I'm legally blind :D
My glasses aren't thick, but they curve much! Someone said they had really bad eyes and then they put on my glasses for a half a second and took em' off and got a bad headache. heh.
It's not so bad, but I can't do anything without glasses.

i have a stigmatism , found out in the first grade. my son is slowly going blind in one eye and my oldest daughter has mild vision problems so its in varying degrees here - just tell your kids to quit laughing cause vision problems are hereditary

Yeah, my daughter likes them but she's 17 months and looks at them as something to play with. lol My son told me that he wants glasses like mommy. It's my teenage stepsons that think it's hilarious. That's ok. I told them I had one word for them

KARMA.

And Scott.....thanks for caring but the lettering doesn't need to be that big anymore. lol
So, here I am in my eyeglass glory

Same thing here, Went to renew license a few years back and kept flunking eye test.. I argued that my eyes were fine,,had them cleaning the lens portion of machine swearing I had eagle eyes.....Finally they had a 16 year old waiting for his license look thru the machine he proceeded to rattle all the letters off perfectly...The next day I went to eye doctor and left with glasses..

I have been wearing glasses since I was 9. I remember telling my folks that I need glasses, but they never believed me?
Until my dad took me to a baseball game and I could not read the numbers on the players. I like to think that glasses make you look distinguished.
