Sike, I went up to the attic and cleaned out the tank. Also went to barnes and bought a few books while I read up before I start to make any purchases.
So....I believe this tank is about 24G.
2ft Length
1ft Width
19.5 Inches Tall.
Can anyone recommend how much live sand/rock I'm supposed to use.
What's a reliable pump/skimmer.
Good source of lighting w actinics.
Also bought this Reef Master Test Kit it was on sale.......

Please help before I start making purchases, til then I'll be reading.....

L x W x H / 231 = Gallons
Yup about 24 gallons ya got there.
About 30 to 35 lbs. rock
At least 24 lbs sand.
Aqua C Remora I keep hearing is good. Really cannot help on that as I have one made especially for the Oceanic Bio Cube.
Nanotuners.com good source for lighting.

With all the outrageous prices I seen at the pet shop today, I just went ahead and cleaned the tank that's been in the attic...

Bad news about the test kit - it does everything except what you really need to begin your tank. You will need two additional test kits while your tank cycles: ammonium and nitrite. The brand you have, API, should be fine.

I honestly haven't thought about the corals just yet, for sure live rock and fish.
I'd like something fairly easy to care for and start off.

This one does say it has NO3, but I didn't see anything for Ammonium.
I'll just go ahead and order something online, thank you for your help....

You should use reverse osmosis water and, for fish, any high quality salt mix. You can add the water directly to the tank, add the salt and turn on a powerhead for a day to get the salt dissolved. Use a refractometer to measure the specific gravity if you have one (a good purchase). Then get your live rock and add it, followed by substrate.

I'm not sure about brands, but you want one that has automatic temperature compensation. It will be designated as "ATC". They sell one on this site that has gotten good reviews and is reasonably priced.
