Finally cleaned the tank today

After recovering from my motorcycle crash and not being able to do much with the tank, I finally gave it a good cleaning today. It had so much coraline algea you couldn't see in the tank except for the small section I had cleaned.

The biggest part was cleaning my Gold Teardrop Maxima Clam. I had take him out and put him in a bucket. He was covered with polyp corals. It took me an hour of peeling, cutting and carving them off.

Finally got him all clean and put him back on the botton with the blue crocea. I was afraid having it out of the water so much was going to make him spawn and mess up my tank but it was fine. All looks good again. The bare spot in the last picture is where the Maxima was at the top of the rocks and you can see the polyp fanned out all over the back glass.

Nice, what did you do with all those polyps. Your tank has nice growth even with not cleaning it.

Unfortunately they don't come off easily and it took me over an hour to clean it so they was nothing to save. I moved the clam to the bottom of the tank so I won't have to repeat that process again.

That tank is amazing! Nice clam, it looks so great now that it is clean. Do you know what type of coral was colonized on it?

Thanks for the complements guys! I literally had not touched my tank since around October of last year except to feed it. I hate water changes and at my best I think I only do one every six months. I'm going to stay on top of it more now though. My tank is pretty good to me though. Like I said, I do two or three or water changes a year, I feed it twice a week and never add any kind of supplements to the tank at all. Maybe I should fix it if it's not broken.

No man, I have not crashed the new Yellow/Black 1000RR but I did wheelie it for the first time today just to see how easy it would come up. Too easy
.
It's just taken me that long to completely heal. When you get in your 40's, bone doesn't heal as fast. Still some nerve damage with pins and needle feeling and a little lost range of motion, but considering the alternative I'm feeling great. Still working on the track bike. Completely stripped all the plastic off and the front forks to have them checked. They didn't feel right.
Hope you are healed up and back in the saddle but wearing a little more gear this time.

WOW....Awesome before and after pics.
I imagine a broken collar bone would make maint. on a decent sized tank rather hard. Glad your doing better.
