i don't believe there's a system out there that eliminates water changes, except for the ones that do them automatically..

There are actually a lot of people that go without doing water changes. But these systems are not easy to maintain and not for beginners are even most advance hobbyist. Tanks without water changes rely on heavy skimming, natural nitrate removal such as fuges w/macros, xenia, dsb, lots of LR and current, and also a dosing routine is needed.
Much easier IMO just to do water changes.

Full shot
well i only dose iodine and the sealab 28 cubes
i believe that if you filter heavily then water quality last alittle longer. thus i'm lazy when it comes to water changes. :)
suggestions on improvement will be welcome.. give me a few more ideas and time to kill.

they aren't too bad, i change them out once every 1 to 1.5 weeks. it takes 10 minutes to go outside and hose them off. that is the only thing i hate about maintenance. but it's a small price to pay for this hobby we all get carried away with.

I bought nylonmesh bags from a online retailer, I soak them in a bucket with bleach and water and then rinse them out. I have 2 pairs I just rotate out.
