sorry, but i dont have high hopes for this octopus. I feel that you dont have much experience with saltwater because 1. you put it in a tank with seahorses......Certainly not a good decision, it is going to suffer a horrible death, and has absolutely no hope of escaping an octopus.
2. the tank looks very small, and chances are that your octo. will get rather large, and i am absolutely positive that the top is not completely covered because you have a hang on back filter, with leaves at least a little room for him to squeeze through.
3. You have fake plants, and freshwater pebbles as the substrate.
I dont keep octos. so i am sure that there are 50 other reasons just from the pic.

I agree about the seahorse get it out of there please! Before we all start bashing let's see some information from delaharsh. May the tank is designed for an octopus.

Wow...that's about all I can say.
I don't want to slam you anymore than what has already been done here, but did you research this before the purchase delaharsha?

I dont feel that my comment was bashing him/her at all, it was very deliberate though, and let him know a few reasons why that tank probably wouldnt work for an octopus.

This thread has been haunting me all day long. It has greatly depressed me. I know Delaharsha was excited with her lovely octopus and I hate to squash enthusiasm. But I feel so sorry for the seahorse who will be just an appetizer, and a terrorized appetizer before its over. I feel even sorrier for the octopus as they are truly intelligent and amazing creatures.

So Delaharsha, if you come back to read this thread, take either the seahorse or the octopus to a reef society or local fish store right away PLEASE.
If the stores are closed, put some type of solid divider in the aquarium right now to separate the seahorse and octopus until morning.
I know you must love your seahorse since you bought it. Do what's right for the creature. Please, please, please . . . . . .

that's because it was probably shortly after he took that pic, that the only thing left in the tank was the octopus.

just an update...
Seahorse is still alive and the octopus is still alive
The Octopus is eating what I feed it.
Yes I have fake plants for my seahorse to grab on to!
And yes I used regular rocks because thats the look I wanted.
its funny that you all just want to hate on something because it is not the norm....
just sad but please keep the hate up!!
I have been in the business of saltwater fish for 15 plus years. I worked for roozens nursery as well. I also have kept nautilus's before and thats wrong right>>>>>
oh well
I can post pics weekly to let you know how the gang is doing.
