Guppies are freshwater and even they have a better chance at survival. If I was in this hobby for 10 years, I would surely invest in an ro/di. Fail.

oh man.. that looks like an eclipse 6 or 12... I will never buy anything from that business the OP works for if thats what 15 years of experience gets me for advice ROFLMAO....
I vote for nitrate and phosphate build up in the weak filter killing the octopus and the subsequent ammonia killing the seahorse..
Or the octopus will eat the sea horse first and the former will still happen.
What a real winner here... tap water... I guess you're really counting on all the walls of the tank getting covered in algae to absorb nutrients... Whats the point of owning a disgusting looking tank?
