Rather than fill up the forum with my pics(not the greatest quality) I'll just leave you a link to my web page. The door on the right has not yet been finished(this weekend hopefully). I currently have 60 pounds of LR but I would Like to go upto about 120 pounds or so.

I like the tank setup. The stand is awesome! Is there a door that covers your sump and other equipment? It looks like the porthole is part of a ceiling fan! Am I right?
Nice job!

looking good... have you thought about retrofitting some other lights into your hood? If I'm understanding it correctly, you'll be running eight 40w bulbs? a few VHO, PC or 2 MH could save you some money in the long run. Just a thought
Love the porthole, nice touch!

The port hole is infact a shroud off of a ceiling fan that I got at a junk yard for about $1.50. The port hole idea came from an in wall setup I saw on the web. but the fan shroud thing just kinda hit me out of the blue.
The sump area on the right will have a door hopefully as of this weekend.
I also house stuff under the tank(salt etc) it has a door that swings up the length of the tank. Another door underneath the porthole opens up for extra access to the stuff below the tank. All of the doors have locks(my kids would get into everything if they didn't). I have also set the stand up with a GFCI outlet that has a 3 prong extension cord that plugs into a wall socket. That setup means I only have 1 or outside of my tank(another kid proofing thing)
It was not really that difficult to make, just time consuming. I would encourage anyone to do it. Very rewarding. As for the lighting, I have been trying to decide what to do about it. I was thinking maybe adding a VHO Ballast to power two 110watt bulbs, ,or maybe adding a pair of MH's, Its all still up in the air and a ways off as I won't have many corals that need lots of light for a while. The tanks has only been running sincec a week before christmas. Our big dilema is the last fish we want to add.
A yellow tang or a blue hippo tang or both, or do we up the shoal of chromis. We would like to add a yellow and a hippo or
just one of the two and up the size of the chromis shoal.
Any input on that anyone?
btw, thanks for the comments, the stand came out much better looking than I anticipated, as I made the thing up as I went along, numerous trips to HD for extra hinges and pieces of wood.
