The mushrooms are my favorite coral in the tank. They spread and open up sooooo big in the mid afternoon.
My stand and canopy were made by a professional finish carpenter local to me. It's made of pine. Design is called herringbone.
The camera is a Nikon Coolpix 4300.

I really like the canopy design. Great woodworking. Do you have any other lights in there besides the halides? Also, so you want to explain exactly how the canpy is set up.
Love the tank and keep us posted once you get your camera back. I have a Nikon too and love it!

The only lights are the halides. They are 2 x 250 Watt 20k XM bulbs. Sometime over the winter I will be adding an Icecap 660 with 4 48" VHO's. Not sure of spectrum yet.
The canopy is pretty simple except I have all of my return lines attached to it. I didn't want to have all kinds of holes in the canopy for light to escape so I told the guy making it to leave NO openings in the back. I then cut the opening for the overflow.
Because I didn't cut any holes for the return lines, the only way I could get them to the corners of the tank was to run them along the canopy. I lose quite a bit of pressure this way and I will eventually upgrade the return pump.
As you can see in the picture, it's not too complicated. The return is split in two to the corners....the return from the sump is connected to the canopy system via a metal hose clamp. If I need to remove the canopy for anything I simply shut off the return pump and detatch the return line from the canopy. It's a weird setup but it's functional and clean.
