Finally got tank pics!!!

Here are 2 (blurry)pictures of my tank. I took some close ups, but they were all too blurry. I know the quality isn't the best, but I haven't bought a good camera yet!(SOON) And these are scanned in. These are before I switched to the 440 watt VHO's! Sorry if the size is too big!

Looks you got a nice and solid rock structure and a white sand bed that looks awsome! Get some good critters to keep it looking that way. I wish I had gotten some better rounded pieces like yours. Sweet Tank!

Thanks for the comment. I actually have 2 emerald crabs, some scarlet and blue-leg hermits, some snails, and a large serpent star. They do a fairly good job of keeping the tank clean! :)

Tank looks good -
Appears to be a 55 AllGlass tank - I think.
Is that a standard pine (oak stained) AllGlass canopy ?
If so - how do you like it ???
Did you mount the 440 watt VHO's in this same canopy or did you go another route ???

nice tank. i mounted my 440w vho on the lid of my canopy and it apperars to be about the same design and i think it works great.

It is actually a 75 gl All-glass tank so it was actually quite easy to mount the VHO's in there. There is also a 96 watt PC in there. A 55 gl would have been a little tight! It is the the standard pine (oak stained) canopy. It works okay, but I don't like having to lift all the lights everytime I open the canopy. It works for now, but I'll probably build another one. I want the lights to be higher off the water. I also want to put my NO's in there to simulate dusk/dawn, and there is absolutely no room left! :rolleyes:

These pics were takin with a 7 yr old(?) point and shoot 35mm film camera. The scanner came free when I bought my computer so I know it's just a cheapy! It is a Umax Astra 3400. I don't know much about them, but it does the job!

Appreciate the heads up on the canopy.
I was afraid it would not allow enough clearance above for the lighting I want to install, and you confirmed that.
Guess I'll build my own eventually.
We'll see ...

What do you want to do for lighting? If you want metal halides, than this canopy is a definite no. It works for the VHO's and PC's, it's just not the best design for it. With the icecap thermal sensing fan I have, it actually stays fairly cool under there, even with there not being much clearance. I want to build a canopy that has doors on the front so I don't have to lift the lights when feeding, etc...
Another heads up, the 48" VHO's, with the water-tight endcaps, are a very tight squeeze between the ends of the canopy! You could probably slide a piece of paper between them! <img src="graemlins//eek.gif" border="0" alt="[eek]" />
