While I was out of town yesterday, I went to a lfs about an hour away from where I live that I've been wanting to check out for awhile(I currently drive 2 hours each way to shop at one I like).
I have been looking for firefish for awhile now for my 75 reef. My qt has been up and cycled for almost a month. Well I walk into this store, and the guy has a good size tank with 15-20 really nice firefish in it. So I look around the rest of the store, and except for a koran angel who was looking a little sick, not a sick or dead fish in the place <img src="graemlins//eek.gif" border="0" alt="[eek]" /> So I go back to the firefish tank to check the price. $8.00 each, or 3 for $20(most places around here get 12-15 apiece). Needless to say I have 3 firefish in the qt tank. They are doing well, and even ate a couple of hours after being placed there.
Now I know there's at least a couple of good LFS's left in the area
I spoke with the owner and plan to do more buisness with him in the future. I find that the stores I like the most are the ones run by a hobbiest, and not someone who is just trying to be the biggest & fanciest(and richest) in town.
Just had to share. We see a lot of negative posts about LFS's, so here's a good one.
