so... people have been asking me about our tank. so here goes. my girlfriend (Pebbles) got me hooked on this hobby/lifestyle with her 55. we were moving anyway so why not upgrade, right? got a deal on "the bay" for a 180, stand, and canopy for $750
so the round trip from Rhinelander, WI to omaha and back was only 1250 miles, (I'm a truck driver and used to it so it's no big deal to me)... so here we are gettin back home

then the setup began. as this was my first tank, I was trying for the keep it simple stupid thing. yeah right. as this was a 180 tall (only 60 in long) my plans to use the 55 for a sump went right out the window. so i purchased 2 30 gal sumps and plumbed them together; one for a sump, one for a fuge. filtration was to be mostly live rock, skimming and fuge with a DSB.

skimmer was orginally a turboflotor 1000, but has since been upgraded to an AquaC EV240 powered by a Mag18.
return pump is a Mag 12, with a Vortech MP40 and 2 Korlia #4 to provide movement. base is 4-5in sand with 300lbs of LR. Lighting is 3 250watt MH w/2 54watt actinics... filling the tank...

since we only live 5 mins. from "the Dr's", all our livestock is picked, packaged, and brought home the same day
