Thanks to Theresa here are the pictures of what came on LR that was purchased about a month ago. Can anyone tell me what it is? The growth that is. I believe the anemones are small rock anemones that came on the rock, (about 10 of them) and a single dark colored polyp. But what I really would like to know is what is the encrusting stuff. I posted a previous thread with a poor description. The pictures should help.

Its call Pavona coral it growths fast and very easy to care for. Doesn't really have much color to it but it does have a nice green color when you have your acnitcs on.

Could be Psammocora superficialis. My second guess would be Pavona sp.
The anomones are called majano anemones and should be removed.

What is wrong with the anemones? They have been on the rock since I bought it over a month ago, they really havent grown any and the move around but just on the rock it came in on.

They will sting your corals and multiply into the hundreds, eventually, stinging and possibly killing, many, many corals in your tank. GET EM OUT! ..before they cause a problem...
It always irritates me how people go, "well, its fine, it hasnt caused any problems, yet." YET. The key word is yet. It will, just give it time. So, get it out!!!

Thanks, now I can search for it to see what it is and if I want to keep it or not. Currently it is a nice maroon color like in the photo's but you do see the green when it is closed up and flat. Also what is the deal with the sweeper like tentacles? They have only appeared in the last couple days, they are clear and about 1/2 an inch long.

Thanks but why so irritated? Isnt this what the forum is for, to ask why? But i guess with a login like EMPEROR and over 500 postings it must be difficult to control your ego. Its ok, I am not offended by your irritation. I have never heard of such problem anemones and kind of like their appearence. But if they will harm the corals like atpatia than I will just remove them. Thanks again.

No I dont have an Aiptasia in my tank, the copperband takes care of any of those. The sweepers are from the edge of the formerly unknown 'growth' that is on the rock. They look like mini sweepers from my Galaxia coral except clear.

I was just reading about them, they appear to only really be a problem if you overfeed your tank. If you dont they dont seem to multiply prolifically and are ok to keep in your tank. I kind of like them and do not have a problem with overfeeding the tank so I will keep an eye on them and feed my fish the right amount of food and all should be good in the world.

There's really no need for responses like this one. Respond to the question or situation with knowledgable answers, and let's keep things polite please.
Thank you!!
